Statement Against Asian Hate RSSG (California Branch)
March 25th, 2021
As we continue to hear of the increasing acts of violence and discrimination against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in our country, we are heartbroken by the hate-fueled violence that took the lives of Soon Chung Park, Hyun Jung Grant, Suncha Kim, Yong Yue, Delaina Ashley Yaun, Paul Andre Michels, Xiaojie Tan, and Daoyou Feng, who were victims of the Atlanta shootings last week.
While we learn more about these individuals, we extend our deepest sympathy to their families and the greater AAPI community affected by these hate-fueled attacks.
We echo Vice President Kamala Harris in her statement, “The president and I will not be silent. We will not stand by. We will always speak out against violence, hate crimes and discrimination, wherever and whenever it occurs.”
RSSG- CA stands in support of the AAPI community and will continue to show up and speak out to condemn injustices, whenever and wherever they occur.
Wishing you everyone good health and safety.
