In the early hours of February 24, 2022, Russia began a military operation to invade Ukrainian territory.

This infamous date will, unfortunately, never be forgotten. Ukraine's sovereignty and integrity were again attacked and corrupted through a Russian violent military assault against several of the country's regions. It is the most severe military crisis in Europe since the Second World War.

The recent Invasion and cruel aggression affront all humanity, go against the foundations of the United Nations Charter, which advocates the search for peace, non-aggression, harmonious coexistence between peoples, and the peaceful solution of all nations' conflicts.

The Russian military aggression is illegal and illegitimate. It goes against all the principles and values on which peace in Europe has been based for decades and violates the rules of international law and "Ukraine's national sovereignty."

It is not just a military or political intervention but an attack against an internationally recognized nation's language, religiosity, traditions, and way of being. Such an act is a setback to Ukraine's independence and an attack on its democracy and must be vehemently opposed and responded to.

We solemnly condemn the Invasion of the Republic of Ukraine, a sovereign and independent state by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, in violation of territorial integrity, the right to self-determination, and free choice of alliances.

From the International Chancellery of the Kingdom of Kupang, in solidarity with the People of Ukraine, humbly ask for humanitarian assistance to the many displaced people (Women, Children, and Elderly) and now refugees of such unjust war.

We call upon all our friends, colleagues, and acquaintances that, whatever your beliefs may be, please pray for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, for respect and peace in that country and among all peoples.

To paraphrase the Ukrainian spiritual hymn "Боже великий, єдиний" Нам Україну храни:

Great and unique God, protect Ukraine for us!

We sympathize with those suffering at this moment in Ukraine, their relatives, and friends worldwide. We from the Royal House of Kupang and the entire world community are mobilized for a common purpose: To keep and preserve a World connected by its common humanity and the strong desire to live in peace.

In the same opportunity, we congratulate the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi. the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has awarded her with the Order of Princess Olga.

Mrs. Pelosi was awarded "For a significant personal contribution to strengthening Ukrainian-American interstate cooperation and supporting sovereign, independent and democratic Ukraine."
